 Certain paint jobs, such as windows on this church, require special preparation. An oil-based paint was used here.  A typical setup for painting. Note 5 gallon water bottle in middle of photo, to right. Water in Peru is non-potable. All drinking water had to be transported.  A little enthusiasm goes a long way.  Some activities transcend language differences. Contrast painted window (left) with unpainted metal door (right).  Gustavo, officially a bus driver, can't resist participating.  Jose, a native, worked as hard and as skillfully as anyone. Food also speaks a universal language. After a one-time relative food shortage, we made sure we had plenty of sandwiches to go around.
